Sudhansh Shrish Lal is a theatre actor, director, educator, and a fourth-year Honours student of Theatre Studies at CHRIST University, Bengaluru. A versatile performer, his practice spans classical theatre, musical theatre, psychological realism, movement-based performance and theatre pedagogy. His training encompasses acting, singing, dance, directing and scenography, enabling him to approach performance as a holistic theatrical craft.

Grounded in the Stanislavski system, he strives to create truthful, disciplined and emotionally resonant performances, guided by the philosophy: “Love the art in yourself, not yourself in the art.”

On stage he has sung Colonel Pickering (2026) and played Zoltan Karpathy (2025) in Broadway-licensed productions of Lerner and Loewe’s My Fair Lady — serving on the latter as Assistant Director — and appeared as Jack Worthing in The Importance of Being Earnest, Wednesday in The Man Who Was Thursday, in the movement ensemble of Antigone, and in the ensemble of the opera Trial by Jury. As director and scenographer he has staged Synge’s Riders to the Sea and Strindberg’s The Stronger.

As an educator he designed and developed Realism in Theatre Acting, a university-level course integrating Stanislavski methodology, rehearsal mechanics and performance analysis.

He is currently rehearsing a Chekhov double bill — Lomov in The Proposal and Aplombov in The Wedding — and sings Guccio in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi.
